Graduate New Student Credit Transfer Application

Application period:
For submission to the College Academic Review Committee for PhD students, the application period for this is from January 16 to January 30, 2026.
(The university system period for applying for credit transfer is January 19 to February 25, 2026.)

Application procedures:

  1. Graduate students who wish to apply for credit transfer for courses taken in their first semester after enrollment or in the first semester of direct admission to the PhD program should log in to the University Information System→ Credits & Credit Transfer, enter the courses for which credit transfer is requested, and submit the application form to the electronic form (eForm) system.
    In the eForm system, upload the required attachments under “Application Record Inquiry” (please highlight the courses you wish to transfer on your official transcript). After clicking “Save,” proceed to “Preview Application Form” → “Preview Workflow” → “Submit Application.”
    If your department or institute requires additional documents, please prepare and upload them together.
    (Please note: Only one credit transfer application can be submitted at a time. Please make sure that all courses you wish to transfer have been entered. While the electronic form is under review, you may not submit another application.)

  2. Please refer to the Instructions for Applying for Graduate Credit Transfer via the eForm System (Student Version).

  3. Starting this semester, the format of the required document “Certificate of Credits Earned in Master’s/Doctoral-Level Courses” for graduates or former students from other universities has been revised. Students concerned must download the appropriate form based on their individual status as supporting documentation.

    • For graduates from other universities who completed master’s or doctoral-level courses with a grade of 70 or above (or B-) during their undergraduate or master’s studies, please download and print “Certificate of Credits Earned in Master’s/Doctoral-Level Courses – For Graduates” (for non-NTHU students applying for credit transfer upon admission to NTHU graduate programs).

    • For students who previously studied at another university’s graduate school but did not complete the degree, please download and print “Certificate of Credits Earned in Master’s/Doctoral-Level Courses – For Non-graduates” (for non-NTHU students applying for credit transfer upon admission to NTHU graduate programs).
      These forms must be signed and certified by the responsible academic affairs office of the original institution, and then combined into a single file, together with the official transcript and proof of study from the original institution, and uploaded to the eForm system.

  4. Department(students) required upload documents:
    (1) Application Form for Academic Review Committee Review
    (2) Course syllabi of the courses applied for credit transfer

According to Article 1, Paragraph 3 of the Regulations Governing Student Credit Transfer of National Tsing Hua University:
New graduate students who completed master’s or doctoral-level courses during their undergraduate or master’s studies and received a grade of 70 or above (or B-) may apply for credit transfer.

The courses and credits applied for transfer must not have been counted toward another degree; otherwise, the application will not be accepted.

According to Article 3, Section 1, Item 6 of the Ph.D. Program in Education Sciences Academic Regulations and Degree Examination Implementation Guidelines:

  1. Applications for credit transfer must be completed once only during the first semester of the academic year of enrollment. Please refer to the registration guidelines for the relevant academic year for the detailed schedule.

  2. The courses applied for credit transfer must be relevant to the professional field of this PhD program, and course syllabi must be provided for review by the Academic Review Committee.
